New to the forum - and Str8
Hello,
I am a going to be receiving 4 nice razors (bought from the bay) probably next week along with my poor man's strop.
Gotta, Hellberg, Blue Special and a Clauss. Some are shave ready, other will need to be restored.
I have been using a DE razor for the past year and have greatly enjoyed this. Looking to shave the old(er) fashion way. Also, there is a little anticipation and adrenaline to the thought of putting the sharpest blade possible on your face without cutting yourself to piece.
looking forward to exchanging more information on this subject.
As part of my other interest, I am a fountain pen collector/restorer (Cloud on fountainpennetwork), e-bike builder (endless-sphere) and a DIY audio fanatic also. There are so many interesting thing to learn =)
Anyway, back to the subject, my father never showed me how to shave, and I thus started with a disposable 2 blade that franlky hurt my face to shave, then moved on to the mach 4 which was adequate for many years. I have never been able to use a electric razor... Last year I decided to make an experiment and try DE, and even potentially save money with the price of the blades =) THis was a success and cost so much less then mach3 or mach4 disposable that it actually frees up some money to invest in other shaving goodies =)
I swithed from derby to feather blade last week and couldn't be happier, derby did pull on the hair wheras feather blade really cut. Looking forward to try str8 and share with the rest of you.
