    Default Hello from Southwest Michigan

I got my first sraight razor back in the early eighties but information on how to shave with it along with the care one must give it weren't available. It sat in the drawer sleeping for over twenty years. When I stumbled on this site I brought it out of retirement and tried again. To say it was dull would be an understatement. I tried to hone it following the tips on this site and got it sharper than it had ever been, just not shave ready. So I did what anyone who wanted to try wet shaving would do. I bought a new Dovo straight and started my education. I am hooked. It's been five weeks and I can't believe the shaves I've been getting. Out of respect for my first straight I sent it off to be honed by Lynn and await its return. This site is truly the most informative I have found and I'm glad that I joined. Cheers
