Thanked: 0New Member in Boulder, CO
Hello Everybody,
I just joined SRP, and it looks like a good next step is to introduce myself on this forum. I live and work in Boulder. I tried researching straight razor shaving about 3 years ago, bought a cheap razor, but never only recently bought a strop, brush, soap, and mug. I couldn't seem to get any good shaving going on, so I dug deeper in my research, and found I needed to hone the razor since I bought it brand new. With no luck there I dug deeper in research and finally concluded I do need to get a decent razor. I just bought one that sounds like it would be beginner friendly from the classifieds. Hopefully, this will greatly help me get back on track on becoming a proficient straight razor shaver. If anybody is nearby and willing to mentor, I'd love any mentoring I can get.
Best Regards,
scott olson

Howdy there Scott. I'm too new to this myself to be a mentor to anyone....come to think of it, I'm usually referred to as a bad influence. I took a "just do it" attitude and 30 cuts & nicks later, I'm enjoying shaving more than ever. I'm interested to know which razor you acquired. Might also be useful to describe your hone and honing technique. Boulder is a great town; if you weren't aware, there is an Art of Shaving store in Denver (Cherry Creek); you might be able to get some advice there as well.
