Welcome aboard! Read the Beginner's Guide before you spend any money on new equipment. When you decide to make the investment, I'd suggest a restored straight (from the SRP Classifieds or whippeddog.com), rather than a brand new razor. At minimum you'll need:
A SR
Brush
Strop
Cream/Soap
After Shave
Understand, too, that this is a pursuit that has a fairly steep learning curve. I have been shaving with a SR for over a year, and still have not mastered all the nuances.
Welcome to your new obsession!

Thanked: 275Repeating the previous post:
Straight Razor Place Wiki:Books/Beginners Guide - Straight Razor Place Wiki
From there, the rest of the "beginner's Wiki" articles are worthwhile. Note the "good straight razor brands" and "brands of straight razors to avoid" documents, if you want to buy a razor.
