New to straight razor, so excited about this site!
Hello everybody,
I am nicolas , french (Hence the alias...) and brand new to straight razors. I just bought a couple on ebay that were cheap, scales looked decent ( to be honest, I have intention to make new scales...), heavy tarnish/pitting but overall looked good. My intention is to restore them, just because of the process, and the fact that century old items are there for uis to take care of them... My favorite cream so far is Taylor of old bonds avocado. I also like the French soap (chavinistic, I know) pre de provence, provence sante verlaine, and would LOVE to try martin de candre.
My budget is super limited, so I'll learn by sanding by hand, and either save to by waterstone, or have them honed professionaly.. Any idea how much that costs?
Anyhow, really excited abut this, and feel free to give my any criticism/advice, or just hang out. These communities are awesome.
