Well, I'm joining the ranks of those in favor of kicking the man in the nether regions by dumping their cartridges and electrics, and shaving the way men were meant to shave!

I'm a chef by trade, so I work with blades for a living (apples and oranges, I know), so it really only seemed a natural progression for me to do this (any chef who says they didn't at least partly get into the business so that they could play with knives and fire for a living is a liar). Anyway, after a few months of DE shaving I decided to jump fully into the world of straight shaving. My order for a new face-scraper and strop have been placed with Lynn and Co., and I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of my new implement of facial disfigurement! Seriously though, can't wait. Especially for a guy with sensitive skin and a steel beard that seriously requires a daily shave to keep in check, I'm very much looking forward to the benefits of a close shave with a single blade. My Merkur has already convinced me that ditching the Gilettes and my Braun electric was the way to go. On a side note, I've already perfected making lather...had an epiphany one day, used my culinary knowledge and like that I'm making a thick, supple, meringue-like super lather!

Anyhow, greetings and well met, and thanks to everyone here who have helped provide a wealth of knowledge on this forum!
