I've been lurking for awhile (since... December, actually) but figured it was about time I made an account and got to posting.

Like so many newbies, I picked up my first razor and strop set from Larry at Whipped Dog. A little battle scarred 4/8 to fit my small build, and the generic VDH orange luxury box set to get started. Needless to say, I was hooked from the get-go. My first shave went flawlessly - it may have taken me a good hour, and I only went with the grain, but my legs were perfectly smooth and happy for the first time in years. Still no nicks or cuts to report weeks later, even after switching to ATG.

So far I seem to be staving off all the various ADs that are so prevalent on the forums. ;P I have however been stalking the 'bay for a shorty 2" razor and sending out queries for a custom. There are just some spaces that would be so much easier to take care of with a shorter blade. I suppose we'll see how long it takes for me to have a dozen shiny blades in my room. I am proud to say I've managed to convert two male friends and one of my brothers to wetshaving (oddly enough most of the people I know just think I'm a nut. Sounds familiar, eh?) and only one of them went DE instead of straight.

Anyway, can't wait to get to know everyone!
