Thanked: 0Newbie from WI
Any other Door County area straight razor shavers here?
Ok so I have not made the purchase yet but my electric shaver broke on me last weekend and I said to myself "to invest in another electric or go old school straight?" and decided that I will go straight and perhaps get a cheaper electric to fill in my learning curve.
So yeah I am from Sturgeon Bay WI and do granite counters for a living with photography as a side business. I actually just made a decent photo gig that will bring me in a couple G's so I can make the purchase of the razor equipment without any hit on my normal income
That's me in a nutshell and though I can't promise I will be super active but I will try to pop up here and there haha.
So thanks for any help you can give and God bless your 2012!

There are quite a few WI users on here. You could try the member map function and see if you can find some close ones

Thanked: 2209Welcome to SRP.
Look in the SRP Classifieds for a quality vintage razor to start with. They usually come pre-honed and shave tested. Then obtain a plain leather hanging strop, decent shaving soap and a brush & mug. Then you have the necessary equipment. After that then read the Library/Wiki to get you going.

Thanked: 0Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Randy I just ordered a blade from manah at strazors. and will be getting a second I think from edsonrazors.com soonGot a brush/soap set from walmart cuz I needed to shave and figured I would start learning that jazz. I will pick up a strop from whippeddog asap as well. Might even pick up a honing set and some restoration "projects" from ebay haha.
aontko, I was in FL a couple times and though it was nice to visit(in Dec) I dont think I could handle the humidity haha. Thanks for the welcome though!

Hello Steve
I'm originally from South Milwaukee, but have lived in Florida longer than I was in WI. Good luck with the shaving. I'm just starting myself.
Go Brewers!
