Hello everyone,

My name is Jeb and i just made my first straight straight razor shave.........i am in an AS (anonymous shavors) meeting?

sorry...bad joke...i have a dry sense of humor.

I am a pipe welder by trade and have moved on to inspection. I currently hold a CWI and am working in the field in California. I am originally from South Texas

anyway...like i said... first straight razor shave.

lots of razor burn.

Overall I managed well with only a few nicks on my neck generally a smoothe face except for a few places....corners of mouth...under nose.

I purchased a kit.....yeah yeah yeah.. beat me up but i had no other insight as to what to do and i just did this on my own. I like the old school idea of it all.

I have a Dovo razor 6/8 and i want to say its a full hollow grind.(i dont understand all of that just yet about the grind but i have the basics. i understand about the hollow grind) i have a two piece strop. one canvas and one leather. i followed the instructions with the kit on stropping.

maybe i am missing something (chances are that i am) but my shave seemed a little rought. the razor seemed like it wanted to drag.

i have a good shave at the end but like i said a good amount of razor burn afterword.

i would love suggestions. the whole straight razor shaving appeals to me, so i am not going to give up yet.
