Thanked: 0Another Aussie into the mix.....
Hi everyone, I'm Aaron from Brisbane Australia. Got my first straight razor a rosewood Dovo 5/8 a couple of months ago, along with a brush, Dovo strop and some Truefitt & Hill 1805 cream, plus a few other accessories all from the Razor Shop...
After some extensive you tubing and reading I made the leap into shaving with a straight razor..and to say I was a little nervous would be an understatement. But after a couple of nicks and some trial and error, I can at least now do one pass incident free and absolutely love shaving now, whereas before it was a chore to use a gillette razor..
Looking forward to checking out the forum and getting as much information as possible so i can perfect my technique...
Cheers....Aaron

Thanked: 1587Welcome to SRP Aaron
I'm just a little north of you in Maleny, but I work in Brisbane. I know Russ at the Razor shop quite well - nice chap. I hope you continue to enjoy your shaves! If you are ever around this way let me know - more than happy to show you stuff and help out in person if you want.
James.

Thanked: 1You and I have very similar stories, as I have also come from the hell that is Gillette and dived in head first in straight razor shaving. I was also nervous too; always cross referencing videos and diagrams to make sure I'm doing it correctly. It took me about 30-45 minutes to complete my first shave, but in the end I loved it even after the cuts!
Welcome to the forums, Bracko!
