Hello all,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Pat and I'm from Chicago. I just got into straight razor shaving. My coworker got me into using a barber's straight razor (the disposable straght razor kind) which got me psyched until I first shaved with just the razor and some old barbesol shaving cream, and somewhat warm tap water from the sink. That day I found out what a razor burn was as well as nick and cut. The next day, everyone asked me if I had a hot date the night before because it looked my face was scratched up.

But despite that, I kept on watching the youtube vids and the next time I had the preshave gel, and shaving cream with brush (onyx, which isn't tat bad) and warm water. The shave was much much better and my face had never felt that smooth, even with the legendary mach 3. I like the fact that you can edge or make a really straight cut. I was able to shape my goatee. I was so exited, I decided to buy a straight razor combo (razor, strop, soap and bowl, brush, and razor holder). The razor came with a lifetime sharpening and will supposedly come "razor sharp." I'm psyched.
