Thanked: 0New to SRP
Hey guys,
My name is Hugo and I am new to the forum but not new at all to the world of shaving with a straight razor. I after shifting through the forum I saw that you guys have an incredible amount of information on honing and stroping razors. Currently I have been using a feather Artist club razor and I have to say I've been loving it. So far it's the closest in weight to a traditional straight razor that I have used. Now I am feeling bold enough to invest on a few alright razors(I don't want to ruin anything good) and a good set of hones to take the next leap forward. Any links to helpful threads would be greatly appreciated thank you and have a great day.

Welcome aboard! I enjoy my Feather too, but it's mainly for emergency use. I prefer holding a real razor in my hand. As for not wanting to ruin a 'good' razor, DOVO's & some of the TI's are pretty affordable & are great shavers. The SRD monthly special will get you a professionally honed stainless DOVO & a quality strop for about $260. Then all you'd need is a mug, brush and cream/soap to be completely set.

Welcome to SRP. There are plently of vendors here who can get you started on the right track with a new razor, or members here offering razors for sale in the classifieds. Take some time, do some research and ask questions, your face and your wallet will thank you.

Welcme Hugo from SanDiego! (I am a poet!) I have never had the guts to shave with a Feather blade like that. It seems scary to me!
You should do fine! Straights are great. I recommend vintage ones!Last edited by sharptonn; 08-18-2012 at 03:51 AM.
