Thanked: 1Testing the waters
Hey there I have been lurking around for a bit and registered the other day. I do not have a shave ready in my hands JUST yet (next week looks good) but I wanted to introduce myself, I use the same handle or a slight variation on all the various and sundry forum sites that correspond to my different hobbies/interests. SRP seems just so packed with info!

Thanked: 247Welcome.
I also use the same handle all over the web, but I am happy to tell everyone my real name (Ken) as well.
Have fun!

Thanked: 1Hey there, Jfro is a college nickname, Justin is another way to refer to me!
I think for my first a Whipped Dog sight unseen may be the best. Comes shave ready and the price is right...

Thanked: 334Hi, Justin, and welcome to SRP! Whippeddog.com enjoys a great reputation here, and I've not read any complaints about their "sight unseen" razors. I think you could do a lot worse for yourself -- "they aren't pretty, but they're very good razors" seems to be the prevailing opinion about them.
See you in the trenches, buddy!

Yup - that'll work! Plus it'll help you figure out your preferences - like what size razor you might like etc.
When I started I bought myself a Dovo "Best Quality," strop, and a stone. I still love my initial stone and razor... the strop is long gone though lol... sigh.
Enjoy the ride and know it doesn't happen overnight - but when it does begin to work, you'll never get a better shave. Good luck.David
