You guys are dangerous!
Less than a month has gone by since I purchased a Dovo #122 from Jarrod. Of course I had to purchase the package with all of the necessary items to go along with it (I love this razor). I quickly discovered this site and it’s been a journey at break neck speed ever since. Looking for hones and some good instruction I figured that it may be wise to buy an older razor first to practice on before dropping my beauty on the stone. Well I just bought a lot of five on E-bay. Looking at the old blades I then decided that I should probably try my hand at restoring them too…so I ordered washers from micro-fasteners and have found myself looking at buffers and drill presses… I also plan to tag along with my wife to antique stores this weekend.
The funny thing is that I do not remember what sparked my interest to begin with. I do know that my first shave took right at an hour which turned into more of a facial peel than a shave. I’ve now gotten it down to 15 minutes. I hated shaving; fast growing beard and a daily necessity. Now I can’t wait to shave!
The amount of information here is nothing short of awesome. You guys are great and I look forward to learning all I can. Thank you.
