Howdy all I joined SRP about a year ago and due to time constraints and life have not been able to be active I have been using a safety razor for a few years and have always wanted to get in to the Straight Razor shave any advice on starting out would be helpful. I have read several of the posts for beginner and am looking to buy my first razor so help a noob out.

Hi Drev and welcome! You didn't say what your budget was for your first razor but a Dovo 6/8 is not terribly expensive and a great place to start (or stay). Make sure that it is professionally honed before you use it, lots of places will include that either free or for a small extra charge. If you're looking to experiment without spending a lot of money, the "sight partially seen" from whippeddog is a way to get a shave ready razor at low cost.

Thank for the advice guys my budget for now is probably 150 or under i have been checking the wiki and all the other great stuff on the site thanks again.
