Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum but not to straight shaving. I've lurked for a while but decided to dive in so I could participate in the discussions.
I actually started with my great-grandfather's KA-BAR. Nothing like your Old Man teaching you how to shave with something that he was taught with by his Dad, eh? In my home town there was an elderly barber, Mr. Gosset, who cut my hair from day one until his death just before I went to college. Shortly before he passed away, he gave me an old safety razor that I cherish to this day and used through my college years. He was the only one my Dad trusted to hone his blades and I tell ya, that old man could put a mean edge on a straight. Don't ask me what the safety is or how old, I have no idea. I'm 50 and he gave it to me when I was 17, but it's probably older than me. Once I started my career, the siren song of the straight called me back.
Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.
Steve
