Gentlemen and Ladies:
I'm new to this group although I have been devouring info from SRP for the last several weeks. Got my feet wet with my first razor, a Filarmonica shavette and this would be my second week shaving with it. I'm enjoying it and I have cut down blood loss to no more than half a pint per shave. I'm still a chicken when it comes to shaving the chin and the area under my nose but I'm willing to wait for the moment I feel ready to try it. Just ordered my first SR from SRD, a Dovo Best Quality. Got my first strop, my first badger brush and other acutrement. This is exciting and for the first time in my life I look forward to shaving in the morning!!

Any suggestions about how to loose the fear of shaving the chin and the area under my nose (other than growing a mustache...) ?

We are neighbors! I love Saint Anton. Any specialized shaving stores in the big S.A.?

Thanked: 3There's one that I know of here in SA, which is the Art of Shaving at La Cantera. In Austin, there's a wet shaving store called Enchante, located in downtown Austin. Apart from those, there are a few online stores and retailers that are very helpful with product information and instruction, as well as the fine folks here at SRP.
