Welcome to SRP!! Glad to have you on the forum. That first straight razor shave, at least for me, was a nervous event. :D Does your Dovo have the factory edge, or has it been honed by an experience honer since you acquired? If its the factory edge they are rarely, if ever, ready to give a comfortable shave.
There's lots of good info in the wiki, linked below and the search function at the top right of the page is an excellent resource for quick info and answers.
