Getting started in Houston, TX
Hello all,
I've been struggling with razor burn on my jaw line and neck and have tried everything pre- and post-shave and with different cartridge razors to try and combat the razor burn. Nothing has worked, so I think it's time I give a straight razor shave a shot. I've had one straight shave in my life at a barber shop and it was the best shave I've ever had. Unfortunately, my face broke out really badly the next day. I think I'll take it slow with the straight shave and obviously not do my whole face the first time through.
Anyway, I have cream (art of shaving unscented) and a brush from them, but am looking for some more advice on a good starter razor (preferably <$50). I read the FAQ and beginner advice on this website, but would still love some recommendations on people's favorite starter razors.
Also, what does the width of the blade have to do with shave feel? What to people prefer?
Thanks!
