Thanked: 0My intro
Hi everyone, I'm from west Tennessee
It's a relief to find a forum that boasts an almost unlimited source of information on the world of straight razors. I never go into anything half-cocked, and after even barely a cursory bit of research into my first cut throat, I found out the market is chalk-full of scams interested in ill-acquired gains from unsuspecting beginners.
Unfortunately, the process of separating reputable information from the disguised information is tougher than I realized. I realize that I'm only 25 years old, and I'm guessing the population on this forum is probably twice my age and may have an inclination to look at me as an amateur meddling in serious affairs, but I assure you; I ask you to brook no nonsense from me. I am here only to learn more before I purchase my first razor.
I didn't get turned onto straight razors in perhaps the conventional way, but seeing as how I don't even know what that way is, who knows?
For me it's all about ideals. I'm something of a romanticist, and I can find a measure of enjoyment from the pure story behind something. For instance, I started shopping online for the original bottles of classic Old Spice because everyone else chases the latest scent from Aeropostle or something similar. Not only did I want to have a different scent than was the norm, I wanted it to be something interesting. Much of the same motivation influenced my decision to buy a straight razor.Last edited by JeffreyxMadness; 04-17-2013 at 12:30 PM. Reason: it was boring.
