    Default My new "Shaving Shrine"

    Hi folks,

just wanted to share the result of my last weekend's work with you - maybe some of you might get some inspiration out of it. First of all: English is not my native language, so please be gentle on me, should I sound a bit "bumpy" - thanks!

I'm a "daily soap" hopper, if you will, and I love to choose my kind of lather according to mood, weather, star constellation and what not. So far - so good. The downside of it was basically a clutter of all kinds of soapy cups, pots, cans and tins, that kept expanding over my whole (not too big) bathroom. Some containers didn't close right, some of them were just butt ugly - but basically I needed more storage room to put them. What to do? Just another shelf on the wall? Not very convincing.

So I came up with this solution. Might be a bit nerdy, but it absolutely does the trick - and I just love the result. Here's what I did. Two magnet bars on the wall, each soap in its own tin container, packaging elements behind the transparent lid for better distinction (and looks ), tins clicked to the magnets - done.

Since this worked so well, I thought about getting the rest of my gear in order as well. So I put a kind of rustic, old-school looking rod on the wall underneath the "soap stand" and put a matching hanging basket on the hooks - perfect. Takes good care of my mug, after and pre shaves, strop, a little egg cup for dissolving menthol crystals in alcohol, badger brush... well, the latter of course in the wrong position (hairs facing up) - not really ideal for letting it completely dry out.

So I entered the third and final stage and added a magnetic wall brush holder as well, which turned out to be the icing on the cake really. What can I say: All soaps at one glance, handy, easy to use and consistently stored – all my equipment (except the razors of course) clearly arranged in one place - and definitely a one of a kind eye catcher. I just love it - and the missus is happy with the gained space for her stuff. Thought I might share this idea with you.

Sorry for the strange alignment of the first three pictures - couldn't manage to turn them when posting them.

Take care and have a good shave!

    Thomas
