Default How many shaving mugs? 1 ... 2....lots?

I'm a relative newb, but have accumulated about 8 shaving soaps. How do you folks handle the rotation? Do you wait to use a favorite up, then replace it? or do you later tin a bowl or dish and then on the face or scuttle and thus be able to switch around at will. Just curious. In my original SR life (30 years ago) I had one soap and one mug, and used it every day. Now I'm addicted to trying different things and trying to figure out how to do it.

I have a separate mug/container for each soap. That way I can use any soap at will. Most of my soaps are in glass sugar bowls, while others are in their original containers.

henryconchile has got it right. Any old, small container around the house, or bought at Goodwill for pennies, to hold the pucks unless they come in a container worth keeping. I have about 7 -8 pucks at the moment in small custard dishes and the like. I also have one scuttle, one shaving mug and a bowl for building lather when I don't face lather. A Georgetown G20, a large scuttle with a pluggable spout to keep the heat in. A shaving mug made by a granddaughter and a bowl from Goodwill with the top rim curving inward for suds containment for two bucks. Almost too much variety to choose from each morning. But it does get the brain in gear for the day.

I rotate some 30 different soaps and creams. Some are in their original wooden bowls, plastic tubs and metal canisters. Some are in my modest collection of antique shaving mugs, while the rest are tucked in wide mouthed coffee cups. What fun.

Most of my soaps have their own dedicated container that came with the product. Some are stored in sugar bowls with lids. For the odd one that is still in a box or baggie I will just transfer it to a small ceramic bowl that I use for loading the brush.
