Looking for a Scuttle master.

I previewed an auction I am going to tonight. I don't know a thing about scuttles or their value. Please take a look at this picture and give advice on value and age if you can. I posted this in show and tell as well looking for advice. Thanks

I went through a Vintage Scuttle buying phase a few years ago I have maybe 12 of them now, I mostly paid more for shipping then I did the scuttle to put that into perspective a Med Flat Rate box in the US is about $11 shipped

Thank you so much for what you "DO" and “CAN” do.
You are always very positive in your help when asked. Your answer was exactly what I was looking for, I will keep it in the back of my mind. I did not want to get into a froth before the bidding starts and get caught up in the moment ( At least with E bay you have time to think). The bottom line is it's value to me is what ever I am willing to shell out for it.

I knew it was either you or Geezer I had seen post a picture with many scuttles in the background. I was always taught when in question ask someone that knows.

One of them looks like a peepee pot.

It is a Peepee pot. Scuttle is China knock off 1970's . The makers mark is wrong in size and style. I might go up to 10.00 for the lot, never know when you need a good pee pot.

Don't think they had pop top beer cans back then for spitters.

Well Boy's
I watched two people fight it out over a knock off Scuttle worth $4.00 wholesale and a no name Pee pot (yes Pee Pot) the plates were Japan with the sticker to prove it. The other piece that Razorfeld thought would make a fair lather bowl was a cheap silk screened pot that would take a 6" brush to reach the bottom if you only used your finger tips to hold it. All of this wonderful JUNK sold for $37.50

I learned much about scuttles today and how to tell most real from reproductions. I downloaded an 18 page what to look for and what it should not have manual. Along with my smart phone to check facts in the preview I was ready to walk away after $10.00 and I did.
Kind of sad I lost the Pee Pot though would have made a nice vase for some tackey plastic flowers.

gssixgun thank you again for what you could do. It made me do my research once I had a price point. I walked away not being a sucker for buying looks.
