Thread: What was this mirrored case designed to hold, besides a straight razor?

Any idea what the bigger slot in this old mirrored case would have been for?

The case is 8" high by 3" wide. The outside sleeve is covered in black leather or paper. The interior box is lined in brown leather. One side has a faceted mirror. The box is divided into two slots, both 1.5" wide. The long slot is 2.2" long, and the short slot is 5/8" long. When I bought it, the small slot held a nondescript, non-matching Challenge Cutlery straight razor in a green, khaki box, but the bigger slot was empty, and I'm wondering what it was intended to hold.
