Those cartridge blade sharpeners, any good?

I am not sure if anyone hear has tried them, I am looking to gather a little intel from the more knowledgeable and pass it along to people on another message board.

A person was asking about Dollar Shave Club originally, and the topic meandered to ways to make shaving more economical. Of course I encourage straight razors, but another brought up the cartridge blade sharpeners. So I was curious if anyone hear had used them, written reviews of them, or anything. To me, they come acrossed as a little to good to be true, but who knows? So any info would be great.

Probably, but I am not going to go through a lot of trouble, looking for a cartridge blade forum or something for this. I figure there has to be a few people on here that have tried it as a way to save money on cartridges before trying a straight razor or safety razor, or a shavette.

The problem is those cartridge blades are coated and once the coating wear you are left with raw stainless steel which relies on the coatings to function. I know someone has discussed this before. it's probably on the DE Forum.

I had forgotten about the coating on the blades and just thought about the crap on the outside wearing out, then you're just left with 3-5 angled blades that may or may not be sharp.

I saved a lot of money on my cartridge blades, by putting them through one of these;



Now they can go on to help others in the way of ,,,,,lawn furniture,,, plastic broom handles,,, ice scrappers for automobile windsheilds , up north,, & of course Kel-Tec firearms.
