    Default Dirty Bird Skuttle

Just received my new Dirty Bird Skuttle from Julie, yesterday. What a great skuttle. I had e-mailed her and asked for a different color combination than what she offers on the site and she made it up, just as I had asked for.

I thought that perhaps the interior bowl was a little small, smaller than I had expected. My first use was with my favorite, MWF and it made enough great lather for five passes (did four). The size of the interior bowl was just fine.

The skuttle produced just fantastic lather with almost no effort at all.

The lather stayed nice and warm for the entire four pass shave.

This is my third skuttle and all have been about the same price point or close. The Dirty Bird is by far the best quality and easiest to use.

Julie is very easy to work with and I highly recommend Dirty Bird Pottery.

I, too, have a Dirty Bird shuttle and really like it. Bought a second, travel size (slightly smaller) skuttle which I enjoy as well.

I just bought 2 shaving bowls last night....now I need a skuttle. I told my 2 girls to buy me one for x mas. I told them it would be a gift I would use and it fits just perfect. I don't need another pair of sox or gift card.

    Nice skuttle by the way...enjoy.

Do you notice a big difference in the shave? Do the whiskers shave off easier? I can remember as a kid ronco had a hot lather machine. You put your can of shaving cream in it and it heated it up. It did not sell for long...the temp probably blew the can up.

I've had mine for over two months, now. Do I notice a difference in the shave--closeness--no. Comfort and enjoyablitly (is that a word)--absolutely---Yes.

Pipeguy sums it very well. As a new guy in straight razor shaving I really can't tell if shaving is easier or more efficient using the shuttle. However, it is certainly more pleasant to brush on warm cream or soap and to be able to do so throughout the shave.

Very nice skuttle..... I don't have one of those from DirtyBird, but a skuttle in general is very nice..... Keeps the lather nice and warm! I place a wet wash cloth over the bowl to keep the inside of the bowl warmer.
Is it over there or over yonder?
