    Default Hand towel woes.

The wife tells me ive cut two of HER hand towels lately. Last time i checked im the one who brings the money home, but i guess that dont count. Ha. Another story.

Do you a have towels that you use to wipe your razors with tthat dont get used for anything but your use? Am i just being careless? Does anyone else have this issue? I had no idea i had done this and she says its the second one ive cut. So what say you? Should i go out and buy special towels for just this perpose?

Don't use towels so no issues there. I do use a damp sponge to wipe my blade on. Cheap dollar store ones will do, just toss them when they get too cut up.

I use a damp sponge as well. I set it on the counter on the edge of the sink. They are inexpensive and I also use it to wipe up the counter after I shave.

Just ask your Local Health Department what they think of sponges in the workplace and you'll find that they are a big NO NO!

I also prefer the standard, striped barber's towels to a sponge...especially for the consideration noted by cudarunner. Towels are easily washed.

I can hang a towel to dry and get a clean one the next day but thinking of a sponge, i cant leave it on the counter to dry. Huh. Now that i think about it. It might not work out for me.it sure sounds like a good idea but then Cudarunner comments. To each there own i guess.

First you need to remember. Rule number 1, "The wife is always right". Rule number 2, "Even when you know you are right revert to Rule Number 1".

I'd say stop using her towels. When I first started wet shaving I went to the bathroom store on a mainland trip and bought a dozen towels all the same, that do not match any of the other towels in the house. Those were shaving towels, and no matter how many I used it should be just fine.

I use toilet paper to wipe lather off the blade. That way I can throw it into the trash when done and not have to worry about extra laundry. Also, if your using a strong-scented soap the lather loaded tissue will freshen up the bathroom for a couple of hours post shave.

Someday I might buy one of those bowls with a rubber cup like I've seen some barbers use to wipe lather off.http://straightrazorpalace.com/misce...drip-bowl.html

    And deiseld too!
I know you guys are right but....

But her/my hand towels are so think and plush!
The barber towel looks like a good idea with the stripe in the middle. The bad part is we share a tiny master bath. The one down stairs is for the kid and grandkid living with us. Another story/sore spot i wont go into.

Guess ill have to get my own. BUT, if she didnt have such nice, thick, plush towels i might not have been tempted to use them. Im still blaming it on her. But only here. Im not stupid. Ha.

Thanks guys for the links and comments. And for reminding me that shes always right.
