Shaving gear for traveling

I finally have my gear for everyday use all set, and I'm not focused on my gear for when I travel. I know I can't take s straight razor as most of the time I only do carry on. Even the Shavette has issues with security.

I'm thinking about a travel kit from Muehl with a shaving brush and disposable blade razor.

What other options are there?

When I'm flying I pack a D. R. Harris shave stick, my regular brush in a plastic box, and a Gillette Superspeed. I also take sample size aftershaves or Trumper's Skin Food in a plastic bottle. The Superspeed was bought at an antique store for cheap so I don't worry about it being lost or stolen. All my toiletries fit in a canvas, roll-up Dopp kit.

I will take a safety razor blade-less & toss a 5 pack in there,, if they take it, so what, I can get blades at a drug store or Wal-Mart.
If I'm checking luggage in, then 2 straights in the luggage.
I refuse to use a disposable again, unless I'm incarcerated & forced to.

The Muhle set pictured above looks nice. It would be better if they offered it with a DE razor.

For carry on luggage there are not many choices. You are limited to a disposable blade razor for starters. The rest of the shave items that are liquid are limited to amounts. Check with TSA on amounts allowed and in what containers. Any brush will do for travel but I like a synthetic because they dry fast. Just stick your brush in a pill container that has had holes drilled in the lid so the brush can dry.

I should save this comment, ive said it before, but when I travel by air, I take my Feather Rg or my Gillette Fatboy, no problems with TSA on these, where the problem comes in is the blades. what I do if there is no checked bag(you can carry your blades in checked) is I just pop a pack of blades in the mail to my destination hotel and have the staff hold it for me. I have never had a problem doing this and it hasn't been an inconvenience, if I,m making multiple stops by air I just send them to my hotels along the way, if DE just a couple blades per hotel in an envelope. or if you can stand the drug store cheap blades just pick them up when you get there. I have had a couple of times that they didn't say anything about the Feather with a blade in it that I forgot to take out, but that's a hit and miss, some will go all security Nazi on you. ok there is your solution to travel and still use a straight cause a Feather can do the job with the best of them Tc
