Is the inside smooth?
If it is you might try using epoxy to build up some ridges.
Nice looking bowl. As Dave said some ridges will help it lather.
the inside has a grit like texture in it.
Nice bowl.! Grandma would have called it a candy dish, and kept her rock candy in it.
Sure you will, that's face candy your stirring around.
So i decided before i used the bowl that nomatter what its made out of i put a clear sealer coat on the inside to prevent any damage in case its some type of wood.. I really think its some type of stone though but i figured ot was better to be safe than sorry.

Wood and stone should be easy to tell apart.
Yes they should .... Wood is light. This is extra heavy.. Wood should be able to be gouged. This cant. From what we all have been able to figure out it may be petrified wood... Or it may be stone. No one has been able to figure it out.No One. And plenty have tried. Even holding it in your hand its hard to tell... No one has been able tp find another like it. If you can then let us All know.... Have a great day...
