I found a nice little metal mug, an enameled "tin cup." It's much much lighter than ceramic and unbreakable. I use VDH Deluxe soap, which melts wonderfully in the microwave. I melt a puck and pour a bit in the tin cup and let it cool. That travels very easily for me. If I have to pack before it dries out, I just pop it in a zip-lock. You wouldn't have to melt a soap, though. The little tin cup idea would work anyhow.
That sounds like a "camp cup"...good idea too...maybe one of those collapsible cups might work as well...the VDH soap melts well too...I read somewhere to melt it and you can 1. secure it better in the cup (no sliding around once it hardens) and 2. add your individualized fragrance with After Shave or Cologne. Be advised that Tabac shave soap DOES NOT melt in the microwave but VDH melts wonderfully. I have Bay Rum scented shave soap and Joop scented shave soap. Rich.
Do pay attention to the container size limits for carry on. TSA here can
be a pain for containers over the 3 oz or smaller size limitation.

It does not matter to them if it is half empty....
Also razors need to be checked with the exception of
plastic ones that cannot be disassembled. i.e. you must
check your str8 and also your DE blades.

Hi guys just had a thought whilst reading through these , if you have a small plastic mug that you like, try using an old pringles lid as a cap they work well for sealing off half a tin of beans etc when you put them in the fridge so might work ok :)
Stocky :)
I just pack up my shaving kit with everything I normally use at home. I have nice ceramic bowl, not to big, not to small. Normally I would only take one kind of soap. Put the wooden soap bowl in the Ceramic lather bowl with my brush in it's plastic holder on top. Doesn't take up that much space really. The Strop is the hard part when traveling. But I normally manage somehow.
Cheers!
