Can you post pics when you get it? I would like one of her scuttles but didn't care for any of the color combos on the site

This is what I have been using lately:
A Marvy rubber shaving mug with Cella soap at the bottom. http://www.amazon.com/Marvy-Shaving-.../dp/B0001KBP9E
A warming pitcher with boiling water for dipping the brush before mixing the lather and between passes: Warming Pitcher | Serveware| Kitchen & Dining | World Market
An electric hot water pitcher to boil the water: Hamilton Beach 1-Liter Electric Tea Hot Water Kettle !! on eBay!
This makes the lather just right for me and toasty warm on my face.
I have and endorse the Becker and Ansgar scuttles as well, but lately have preferred the above-mentioned method.
I hope this is on-topic...
If a slightly smaller scuttle works for you, it's come to light that there are seconds available at Georgetown of the G5 scuttle for $30 + shipping (saves $15.) Julie's 1.5 is so big--I don't think my shave den counter has room for it. As I'm coming from a brush-scuttle background (yes, face lathering), I'm picking up a GTP scuttle as we speak, and believe it will be big enough to work for me. I also don't use the largest brushes so we'll see...
maybe I should have pm'd the OP instead!
Fwiw: Georgetown Pottery G5 Scuttle ID 3.75", depth 2.5"
Dirty Bird 1.5 Scuttle ID 4.5", depth 2"
Dirty Bird Original Scuttle ID 3.5", depth 2"
Robert Becker Has a large variety of options ranging in size from smaller to quite large
If big and good is what you want have a look a Schwarzweisskeramik
I use the Dirty Bird 1.5 that my wife got me for my Birthday. I love this thing and hate it when I travel and can't take the scuttle. Holds plenty of water, makes great lather, and keeps it nice and warm for a 3+ pass shave with just hot tapwater.
Their work is great.
Of course I will qualify this review with the following disclaimer: I have not used any other brand of scuttle but hinted for the Dirty Bird based on all of the very positive reviews from here and elsewhere.

Older thread I know. Just like to chuck in my two pennies.
Girlfriend got me a large Moss Scuttle for Christmas and broke down and gave it too me right away! God bless her cotton socks! Said she felt bad as I could be using it for months leading up to when HO HO actually comes.
I have a large brush with almost no back bone (silvertip high loft) and I successfully lathered right in the scuttle with no problems. It ended up being a great shave, very pleasant.
Cheers to Sara and Dr Moss!
