I'm with PhatMan TufGlide works like a dream. What I like best about it, is that it stays put. Doesn't migrate.

I would have thought he was in two minds as to what to do...Perhaps the rocking was one head saying get down, and the other head saying No! Let's stay put...:) As you could tell by my own Avatar, I'm a dog lover too.

I wipe my blades with a small piece of t shirt thats been soaked in Ballistol before storage. The idea is to apply a light film, not a thick coating. Up until recently I was using camelia oil, but was rather distressed to find that it had dried up and left gummy stains on a few blades that had been in storage for a few months. Alcohol wouldn't remove all of it, I had to use a little metal polish to get all of it off.
RodneyOK,
After each shave. I rinse the blade in very hot water, gently wipe dry and leave the razor open to 'air' for about an hour or two (not in the bathroom). I then apply a thin film of TufGlide to the blade, tang and 'monkey-tail', close the razor up and back into the rack.
Whether it is necessary to do this after every shave I don't know; as it takes only a matter of seconds to wipe the blade with TufGlide, it has become something I do for every shave. As my house is very cold and damp I like to err on the side of caution :)
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
Oil?
On the razor I use, I don't oil it.
On the razors I have in my collection, I use CLP breakfree. (The stuff I use on my firearms and such)
I use Camellia oil and keep my blades resting on a micro fiber towel inside the drawer of my shaving table. The cloth has over time been saturated as well with camellia oil. I also keep a few dessicant packs in the drawer. No problems as of so far and I've been doin that for over a year or more.
