Razor stand for $3.95

Hey Guys,

I thought I would show off my handy work here I've been in need of a small stand to hold a few razors, 1 of which being a new Kamisori. So I went to Michaels and picked up some pine strips for about $4 and with a couple knives, mitre saw, and some glue I got to work!

This thing only took me about an hour to put together and it's by no means meant to be a beautiful artisan piece of work. It's really just a quick and dirty stand that will hold my razors as they need. Its shown holding 2 standard razors and 1 kamisori but could easily do 3 standard razors instead. I just notched the top out a bit to handle the Kami.



It may look like the Kami blade is contacting the stand but I assure you the cutting edge is held very securely and is not touching anything but air.

I think it's a great idea , for a quick , and easy razor stand . However , I don't think it's a good idea for the kamisori . That edge pointing up is an accident waiting to happen .

I've been thinking about building something similar but instead of sitting on the countertop I've been playing with the idea of having it wall mounted. Basically build a rectangular frame with hooks or mitered wooden hooks similar to what you have. Yours looks good and you can't beat the price.

Hey Scookum, that's a good idea. You would probably mimic what I did but with a better wood (not pine) and drill some holes in the back into a stud or anchor. While you're at it, why not bend some wire underneath to hold your brush(es)?

That a nice looking piece. If you want it to have a more polished look you probably could get some cloth from Michael's and contact cement. And cover the whole thing with the cloth
