Look at the Brightside of that. That means breakfast is their specialty which equals tasteeee !
What did she do? Comment, charge you extra or eat it herself? :)
I meant no one here had commented on the double yolker. I thought for sure Steph would pick up on it.
Mick
Sorry about that. Our waitress simply commented about it. There was no extra charge.
In fact, both me and my wife's eggs were double yolkers. Talk about lucky. Or perhaps the result of genetic engineering?
It would only happen after opening of course and then the surcharge would be applied. Refusal to pay said charge would have to result in me eating the egg myself :).
Mick
Me too! :)

- on oat and wheat bread.
That's a lotta Herring Otto ! I like smoked Herring m'self .:)
I noticed, but was trying to get ready for work and various other things so was not to chatty. So "Hey , a double yolker!" Those things are always a plus ! And I would not charge extra for that if it were my eatery. Life is tough enough for us peasants. when life hands you a bonus give humbly and accept humbly.
Lately I've been making simple breakfast burritos at home. Toss a little bulk sausage and some thinly sliced pepper and onion in a skillet, cook until the sausage is done, drop in a couple eggs, scramble in the pan. Heat a couple tortillas in the microwave. Put mix in tortillas, add a little cheese and a dash of hot sauce and you've got a meal.
I am dead beat tired tonight and sore to boot. Just cleaned up after a wedding at work.Absolutely nothing decent in the house save for some leftover pizza and some tea. So....I'm gonna hit it early tonight and then I'm getting up before dawn. Gonna light my pipe up with some good Virginia tobacco and then I'm gonna march on down to the store and get something decent for breakfast. There may even be an apple fritter in my near future, and there sure as heck is gonna be some sausage and vegemite toast.:)
What no decent wedding fare left over?
Makin up for lost time as I didn't get to make my trip to the grocer a few nights ago. But I managed to get the pantry restocked a little last night.Tonights late night meal at the breakfast car aboard the Nightblade express...... Vegemite toast, Coddled Moroccan spiced eggs, Sausage patty, strawberries and tea. ........followed by a nice pipe full of MacBarens Plumcake(for you pipe of the day gang).:chapeauAttachment 140846Attachment 140847Attachment 140848

As luck would have it I got the Create channel on TV and a Lebanese cooking show is just starting ha ha the power of food strikes again.
I'm going to have to come up with something new for breakfast. It's been a bit of the same old, same old lately. I'll think on it as I sleep tonight and if I have any luck, I'll post pictures..:)
Mick

Went out to breakfast this morning, with my wife and son.....daughter was in school
Probably go out for breakfast again tomorrow, just the wife, kids will both be in school :)
May get chipped beef gravy & biscuits
Ham, cheese and fried egg on toast. Sorry no photo's. I was hungry. I should have put vegemite on the toast to really spice it up, but it was too late by the time I thought to do it.
Mick
Well thank you Humbly. Seriously though, I can cook I admit, but my ingredients are very simple. And the funnier part is they are mostly the same ingredients, just done in different methods and combinations. I am one who would say "SOS" is a good thing after all. As is Beans on toast.
Mince recipe : Ground meat(any kind can work) Minced onion, salt, pepper, beef stock or mite and oats. sauté onions till clear, add your meat and brown. add salt n pepper. Using a potato masher, mince your meat up fine. Add stock and some water and oats and simmer. If you add less oats it's more meatier, add more oats it's more like a porridge. Pour it over toast, rice, potatoes etc. rolled or steal cut oats either can be used. You can add peas n carrots to it or what ever spice . This stuff is pretty dang versatile . Enjoy.....
That mince meat porridge looks good. Sadly, I would be the only one in the house to even attempt it. Wife and kids aren't adventurous eaters.
My typical breakfast is coffee and a bowl of whatever cereal is in the pantry. Seeing its October, all 5 of the Halloween cereals are in there. Boo Berry, Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Froot Broot and Yummy Mummy. Not a fan of any of them. Yes, Froot Broot and Yummy Mummy are back. My wife went crazy when she seen Froot Broot on the shelves.
Need to get some eggs and make me some corned beef hash and eggs again soon. Or slow cooker steel cut oats and sausage links.
