    Default What are you drinking?

I can only assume that with such a large collection of manly gentlemen found here that there are a number of us that enjoy the spirit-lifting effects of a fine alcoholic beverage. I've seen a whiskey/scotch thread, but that's rather limiting. It's Friday night, most of us have tomorrow off, and if we're not hitting the town, we're planning on having a nice quiet drink in our own fortress. So, what's your poison? Don't limit yourself. Everyone has their own tastes, and I personally would love to hear of a new cocktail/liquor/beer/wine I've not tried.

I am personally taking Friday night as serious as one can, and enjoying one of Papa's favorites: Death in the Afternoon

    1 Champagne Flute
    1.5 oz Absinthe
Fill with Brut/Secco/Champagne of your choice

Full disclosure, I did have 2 Old Fashions before I poured this, so it's possible tonight will go much better than tomorrow morning, but life is short, right?

I think tonight may just be a Jameson and ginger night... that or I'll just stick with my old stand-by: Newcastle

Bulleit Rye: flavorful, on the right shelf, and most importantly, it has a cork.

Metaphorically speaking, today at work was 12hrs of treading water, trying to keep my head dry, in a lake of runny manure. So a stiff drink to unwind with is in order.

In place of ice: cherries that were bought fresh last summer & promptly pitted and frozen. Cause who wants to waste cocktail space with any form of water?

Finishing touches: bendy straw & a splash of grenadine.

    My tolerance rating: lightweight.

    Thumbs up

Always very enjoyable at a very affordable price. Unfortunately one bottle is not enough . In any case a great start of a long labor day WK.
