    Default On The Rocks

Well after a long cold two weeks at work first day home was fine as frog hair.Got my hair cut at our old school barber shop with a straight razor neck shave, worked on some blades, then had a wonderful dinner with my awesome wife and kids and now enjoying some Captian Morgan's spiced rum on the rocks.Literally on the rocks,my wife surprised me with these soap stone chillers.Name: IMAG0308.jpg

Congrats. It all sounds great (not a spiced rum fan myself though). How do you like the soap stones?

I think ingesting soap would give me the runs....

Sorry couldn't resist. I am curious as well...

They definitely chill your drink without diluting it.I like them in a drink that I would enjoy chilled but I also enjoy crunching on the ice so for something like spiced rum I think ice,for a good bourbon I think these would be perfect.

Thanks,I have a very classy wife that picks up on the little things,we live fairly remote and also have a homestead in the Bush that's only excesable by river boat ,snow machine or Bush plane and she still finds ways to class things up,I occasionally find myself accompanying her to the Anchorage symphony but a few hours of civilization is worth it if it makes her ghost happy.

Cool-I'd be in heaven living in the AK bush! I've seen those stones around, but as I actually like a little dilution with some of the more fiery scotches and bourbons I do rocks style (and I like to crunch on the cubes!), I'd be spitting out teeth if I tried those! And with the peat monster Islay scotches I favor, or something like a Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve bourbon at 120 proof, you NEED some dilution. Enjoy!

I used to work up there too, I,m not missing it. Scout hiker, you are correct, the Knob Creek single barrel , takes a couple of ice cubes, or it's a little hot!!! Tc

Yes, but it's just an explosion of flavors, and probably my fave bourbon at the moment.
