at my Costco they had the Pitt Boss in stock, the Kamado Joe was only in town for 10 days, the 150# lid lifts with 1 finger with that lift system. my little BGE isn't,, I guess the big ones need it,, what does the BGE use on the Large? is it Hydraulic? the ash removal system and the 2 tiered cooking plus the acc. were what put me over the edge,, last weekend I was cooking for the grandkids, and I had to cook in 3 waves to get enough burgers and dogs for that bunch.. now the small one BGE is perfect for me and the wife, but now I have grandkids hinting that it would look good in their backyard. anyway, guys the BGE is the big name brand but the Kamado Joe is built the same and lifetime on the chamber and its 400$ cheaper at the roving road show. being from Costco you have all the warranty you need,, I was considering the Pitt Boss just because at Costco your covered, Tc
Awhile back I purchased a 'chaffing pan' and it's paid for itself. Not only for when I want to have things like Baked Beans, Veggies etc ready to serve but like last May when my son in law asked me to do the BBQing for my daughter's surpirse 40th Birthday Party. There was a slug of people and the meal would be BBQ'd Burgers, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans and some Mac Salads, Potato Salads.
I had extra pans so I got started on the dogs and burgers and had them in the pan along with the baked beans. Then people could just open the lid, get what they wanted and I could keep up. Worked Great!

I will say that the pans aren't the same heavy duty as what I salvaged from Safeway Store Closures but they do work.
Note: Those cheapie Disposable Aluminum Baking Pans at the grocery store also will work!
I have a Costco purchased Traeger, works great for my home in the burbs, I am looking for something different at my mountain home.
Well the smoker's been active----
:hmmm: what could these be?

Made some jerky last Saturday along with smoking some extra PL sausage. My existing butcher changed a recipe on his garlic sausage and it doesn't taste the same... He said that he reduced fat content, what kind of BS is that? I smoked it a bit, hoping that would improve the taste but can't make it better with cold smoke if the original recipe got altered!
Anyhow, running my BGW Grand Slam on Saturaday made me hungry, very hungry, so I decided to make St. Luis style ribs on Sunday.
Here is an image to prove it, cheers.
