    Default 2025 Happy New Year!

    Well I can't actually believe that it's 2025 seems like just yesterday many were concerned with Y2K!

    Well it's here and I'm having a little spread for the family. I don't have a dinner as this way they can come and go at their leisure. Here's what I've fixed for them:

    Back row left to right;

    Homemade Chex Mix, Corn Tortillas, Ruffle Potato Chips and Homemade Caramel Corn

    Front row left to right;

    Homemade Shrimp Ceviche, Homemade Hot Mustard, Homemade Canadian Bacon, Ritz Crackers, Saltines, Deviled Eggs, Salsa, Ham with cream cheese filling, Turkey with the same mixture, Bottle Salsa, Homemade Salsa and Black Olives.

    Not really a balanced meal but it's all good!

    I hope that the new year will bring joy and happiness to all.

    Happy New Year!

    (Damn I hate getting old--forgot the pic)

    Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

    2024 was a bitch for me. Lots of pain, lots of surgery. Lots of infection. I’m looking forward to something better. Happy cooking Roy.

    Happy New Year to all! Crazy to think Y2K was 25 years ago.

    Is it already !. Damn years ago by in a few months, now. Each year seems shorter than the last. Hopefully the circus moves on, and we can get back to some state of normal, this year. Doubt it.

    We are now closer (albeit by just a little) to 2050 than to 2000.

    Remember your Creator in the
    days of your youth, before the days of
    trouble come and the years approach
    when you will say, "I find no pleasure in
    them"-

    before the sun and the light and the
    moon and the stars grow dark, and the
    clouds return after the rain;

    when the keepers of the house tremble,
    and the strong men stoop, when the
    grinders cease because they are few,
    and those looking through the windows
    grow dim;

    when the doors to the street are closed
    and the sound of grinding fades; when
    men rise up at the sound of birds, but all
    their songs grow faint;

    when men are afraid of heights and of
    dangers in the streets; when the almond
    tree blossoms and the grasshopper
    drags himself along and desire no
    longer is stirred. Then man goes to his
    eternal home and mourners go about
    the streets.

    Remember him-before the silver cord is
    severed, or the golden bowl is broken;
    before the pitcher is shattered at the
    spring, or the wheel broken at the well,

    and the dust returns to the ground it
    came from, and the spirit returns to God
    who gave it.

    "Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the
    Teacher. "Everything is meaningless!"
