The work week is over, so obviously it's time for a beer. This is a local Beer here in Ontario, and a good one. A Bavarian style wheat that gets an A+ from me.

Two months ago my sweetie took me to Honolulu, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, to show me where she grew up and to introduce me to some of her relatives and friends. While there I had opportunity to try an amazing "almost" local brew called Kona Longboard Lager. I say "almost local" because the brewery is over on the Big Island. I fell in love with this beer so leaving it behind at the end of our brief vacation was a bittersweet sorrow. A week ago I walked into a local tavern that stocks a huge variety of cold six packs for take home and did a double-take! There it was in the first refrigerated case! It turns out Kona beer is brewed here on the Mainland too. I was happy as a Kalua Pig in poo!
Aloha!

This was tonight's second round, Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale. Smooth, well-balanced, and a bit less hoppy than an IPA. Ah . . .life is good!
Lost Abbey Carnevale, made in San Marcos, CA.
