Funny the Turks would sit in direct sun on a day when it was about 147 degrees outside and drink this ridiculously hot and very strong tea. Now I'm normally all about the whole when in Rome thing and I really didn't want to be the ugly American. Nevertheless, I was quite comfortable hunkered down in the shade drinking a cold beer.
Thank you. I had no doubt I'd get a warm welcome from a man who knows good food and drink. Right now I'm content using mu wife's iron tea pot and my coffe cups. Even my coffee which is my primary choice is made quite simply......a French press. Espresso is the only expensive item because I haven't found a cheaper way to make it and still have it worth drinking. Right now I'm enjoying discovering the different teas. I suppose it can be expensive if you are on the hunt for the truly rare teas but I don't know enough to justify that. I've always hated most of the grocery store teas. But I always liked the green tea from my favorite sushi place. So I've been trying the ones from the tea shop I stumbled across one at a time. The range of flavor sis really fun. Do you gents have any recommendations on good sources for the teas you like?
First off that was a kind thing to say. And you are most welcome. Second tea. Store bought bag English teas are a good way to start. Try Costplus World Market to start. PG Tips and Barry's Irish tea are good as is Yorkshire gold which I can get as well as Tips at Whole Foods too. Twinings is okay but the Brits got the better deal on that as the Twinings they get is better quality than what we get..figures I guess. Unless someone beats me to it, I'll look up some of my old contacts tonight and PM them to you .
