I can second that. The characters are 中國 which means "China" and are traditional characters (which are the variant almost always used on art). A little hard to tell from the pics, but it does look hand painted. The designs seem "traditional" i.e. designs that have been used over the generations. The leaves around the base are, to the best of my knowledge, plantain leaves. Don't have any info about the geometric pattern around the rim.Quote:

I'm having Jade Cloud green tea in the Thermos mug pictured above. This mug keeps the tea really hot. I had to take the lid off to let the tea cool down so its drinkable.
It finally feels like autumn around here. I'm having lapsang souchong this afternoon.
I'm having Churchill blended tea this afternoon in the mug from post #5133. It's not feeling like autumn today.
We had our first real snow today.
