I prefer bacon. It must be the Welsh in me. :D Can't get Bara Brith or (It won't let me use the the word C0ckles so...) a certain type of shellfish over here, mores the pity. Then I could have a proper Welsh breakfast to go with my tea. :)

love me some good Grade A maple syrup! My mom just bought me a glass teapot and kettle from teavana. (moms can still be valentines I guess) and I do love the outdoors so I checked out the Kelly Kettle... Ended up getting the large aluminum kit! +1 to you friend!:rock:
I'm not too sure as I have never done it before.But I remember reading somewhere about how in some Russian prisons,the inmates would brew this stuff and use it as their prison hooch. Yeeeesh! Nyet for me thank you .You might start off googleing some Russian tea or food recipe sites as to the proper way to do it.Or you also might try to contact Kusmi Tea.They have and american web site.They used to be the purveyors of Tea to the Czar up until the revolution,afterwhich they fled to Paris and have been blending Tea ever since.And man is it good Tea !:gl:
I've been drinking a variety of loose leaf Chinese green teas and Darjeelings. Recently I bought a box of PG Tips loose leaf tea and I think it makes a fine cup of black tea (I don't use milk or sugar in tea).
I just ordered some Barry's loose leaf Irish tea and I'm excited to try that as well. I want to see how it compares to PG Tips.

You will like the Barry's.It is Irelands answer to PG tips if you will.Very nice every day brew.
I got the two boxes of Barry's Gold loose leaf tea today and brewed up a few cups following the directions. I'll have to give it a few more tries and compare directly with PG Tips, but my first reaction was that I thought the Barry's was stronger than PG Tips with hard to ignore "bitter" overtones. I did not over steep the tea (infusion of 3 minutes). I do not use sweetener in tea and normally I don't add milk. I found the Barry's to be strong to the point that it wasn't a pleasant cup on its own. I put a spot of milk in (maybe a tablespoon or two) which smoothed out the tea very well and made for an entirely pleasant and good tasting cup. I also bought some loose leaf Ty-Phoo tea that I have not yet tried.
My plan is to have a blind tea tasting for myself with the help from my family soon. I'll brew up PG Tips, Barry's Gold and Ty-Phoo all in exactly the same way and see which I like best unadulterated (my preferred method of drinking teas) and which I like best with a spot of milk.

Most folks in Britain and Ireland are like Americans here with their Tea.Milk n Sugar.With exceptions as well ,just like here.That being said,It's been my experience that it's usually better that way.But you can always make a weaker brew.When it comes to bag tea,I usually do 3-4 bages in the pot for me as I like it strong.Assam teas are good for this very reason.Assam is very strong and malty mmmmmm.But,to each his own of course.:)
I have been hooked on Jasmine Pearl tea the last month plus.. then I tried a Blood Orange loose Herbal tea and it was almost like eating the Orange.. loved the stuff. Need to get another tea pot though as I only brew the Jasmine Pearl in my Yixing pot and the Blood Orange is going in the one my daughter normally uses.
