Thanks for the advice.
I've never heard of fever tree but I'll keep a look out for it

On the Tanqueray tonight. Going do very easily! :)
I generally drink Tanqueray, but as a splurge, Hendricks is terrific, and for less than Hendricks I like Boodles, which is so smooth you're sure to drink too much too fast....but it is good.
"Martinis are like tits, one is too few, three too many, two is just right."
Tonight is France's finest, Citadelle.
didnt know whether to put this in the christmas thread or here but i decided it would get more appreciation here. here's what i unwrapped christmas morning :p

from left to right, spirit of london small batch gin off the mother, boodles and plymouth of my grandfather, also got me two bottles of wine, and a bottle of william chase extra dry gin which is made from distilled apple cider off my mothers gentleman friend. the little bottle is orange bitters.
cheers :beer1:
trying to decide whether to open them all at once to appreciate their different flavours side by side or drink them one by one.
Kev did you get fever tree? it really is sublime!
ah ok. i get it from sainsburys just because that is my local.
they also make the best ginger beer which is great for a cocktail my friends call wilderness. 50ml gin, glug of elderflower cordial, ginger beer and angosturra bitters garnished with three slices of cucumber
you will have to try the old navy favourite, pink gin. 50ml gin, add bitters to taste.
fond memories of the last time i drank that. was on a bar crawl in bristol with a mate Paul on one of the hottest days last year. we started at lunchtime in clifton or whatever the posh side is called, lovely pub meal looking over the suspension bridge. then into the centre of town, drank until the last bar open had to kick us out to close for the night then back at the hotel, looking in my suitcase all i had was gin, bitters and limes so we drank that till we passed out.
I like Gin!
Once a friend and I was having dinner after we been crawling in caves for days.
We really wanted the dinner to be special after eating cold food from cans for days so I thought we could start off with an small apéritif like a dry martini.
He thought it was a great idea and headed for the kitchen...
-We ain't got no Noilly Prat!
-Well straight Gin will do then!
-Ain't got no cocktail glasses either!
-Well, I don't mind, take any glass!
So, after downing a 0.6L beer glass full to the rim of Gin, the night out on town sure got "special"!
My favorites in order:
1: Hendricks
2. Tanqueray
3: Bombay Saphire.
There is no other.
Well, I like Islay scotches & now I like Islay gins.
Ah, the martini! Nothing finer than "loudmouth soup."
Bombay Gin or No 3 with Tonic lots of ice and a slice of lime not lemon, Heaven
Hendricks
Tanq 10
Bombay
In that order.
Martinis made with Beefeaters or Boodles. Ahhhhhhh Heaven
I really enjoy New Amsterdamn Gin.
My everyday is Tanqueray, but I really like Hendricks and Boodles. I have a friend with a bunch of rare ones who keep so promising to have me over for a tasting, but somehow the call never comes :(
My go to Gin is Bombay and every now and again No3 but it is expensive.

Gin & tonic, with Bombay.
Truthfully, I have not imbibed gin since I was a kid... A bad night on it completely turned me off to it! The same thing happened with Chicken Chow Mein in High School... I was getting ill anyway, and the Chinese lunch finished me off. Have never indulged again..
I should give gin another chance... especially on a hot day with Tonic over crushed ice..
Try looking here---yes, I'm that Harold: July | 2016 | Gin Gents
Thanks Harold. I'll try that one.
We've also tasted these three recently and reviews are in progress. of the three, Brandon's was my favorite, although it's different than many gins. Watch the GinGents page that I linked above for reviews of lots of different ones. We have one guy who travels a lot and collects up hard-to-find gins for us to sample. Attachment 246423

Gin and tonic.
With gin from the local distillery.
Quite a good one.
You crazy Brits, drinking upside down, har..
Hard core mate! but all kidding aside, looks tasty..

Ahh, my bad guess.
The bottle says London dry gin, so took a leap.
Although if history be believed some might say England was the land of the Vikings, albeit it briefly,,, as was Canada too,,
Hehe.
Had some tasty Iceland gin while there, can’t recall the name though..

I am a gin fanatic. My favorite is Dingle's, which I cant get in the US. My everyday is Boodles. Love a gin before (or after) dinner.
This stuff is the bomb! And aesthetically pleasing.
Our bottle is almost gone. I've generally been pretty "meh" on the Vancouver Island gins, but this one. It's good.
I'm also lucky to be about 20 minutes away from Shelter Point distillery. They're doing some great whiskys there and have recently added a gin still. I've sampled and liked, but it definitely demands more investigation.
Mines empty, will be refilling before the holiday.
Best citrus martini base I’ve found so far. The addition of colour adds a neat spin On cocktails.
For a tradition olive martini, or with tonic, I’ll usually reach for original Bombay every time.

Another new gin from the local still.

Some days a gin & tonic is all that one need.
...As for me I'm still trying to decide which one is my favorite...;)
