I'm seeing a "Mahoney Menu" cook book somewhere in the future...... And all I want is 7.75% for the brilliant idea :deal:
I do indeed love a nice plate of wild Welsh Wimberry tart, so this year I'm going to need a new Berry Picker Comb, so roll on July, wild Wimberries you better look out I'm coming for you. PS I'm sure Wimberries in the US are called Huckleberries.
30 years ago I moved my father's oldest sister up from the Los Angeles area of CA. She'd been down there 50 years and her duplex got sold and she said she couldn't find a place to live that a rat would live in so we found her a nice place here in Walla Walla.
Anyway she told how she'd made some friends back in the day and that a bunch of them were having coffee and she said she really missed Huckleberries. Well none of them knew what a huckleberry was and they wanted to know more about how they tasted.
Leora said she thought awhile and finally said: "Huckleberries taste like what blueberries out to".
I have to agree! There's really nothing quite like the taste of good huckleberries.

Tried something new for dinner tonight. Put some of our favourite frozen french fries, Cavendish brand, in the air fryer and near the end added some ham stripped from the Easter ham we had left over plus some cheese curds. Then added some gravy over the whole thing. That was served on a plate where you took what you wanted from. Sort of a twist on French Canadian Poutine. Of course I added some ketchup to my portion. Man, that turned out well. Filling and rib sticking good. Low calorie too. Hot mess ham hash?
