I'll see you on that and raise you one for a vacuum coffee maker.:)

Absolutely! I tossed my Braun drip coffee maker after Falling for a Bodum French press. But my love of all things vintage eventually led me to try a vacuum coffee maker and both my French presses now sit unused. They just cannot compete with the vacuum maker's results, though I haven't a clue why.
Having said that, it goes without saying that the Creator did not stamp us all out with the same cookie cutter. My taste buds experience Nirvana poured from a vacuum pot. Others' will find Nirvana elsewhere.
-_-
Finally tried Turkish coffee. Bought some cheap equipment and a package of ground coffee with cardamon at a local mediterranean/ middle eastern market. I'm sure there is better than what I made, but it was good enough to let me know I like it a lot.
What equipment did you get?
Just a cheap set of 3 different sized stainless steel ibriks, or "coffee warmers" it said on the box. The set cost $5.00. I may upgrade to a more traditional set made from copper some day, but for now the cheap stuff is working fine. Actually pretty good quality for the price.

Hmm.. i can make coffee talc with my grinder.. maybe i should give it a go :)
Just wanted to say thanks to you all for finding a (temporary) cure for my RAD...
I've had serious coffee on the brain since this thread started and now I'm thinking of investing in both a home roasting setup and a vacuum system. So I guess it will be a deflection of funds from my RAD, but a change nonetheless. :)
