I may have the terminology all wrong, but what do you guys like as far as splashes that I can use to sooth my face after a shave. I don't mind a little burn I think it feels good.
I'm not so much a fan of the creams.

Hello, Stdre27:
My first suggestion would be to give your handsome face a small application of Thayers Medicated Super Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera. This is a great astringent. Beyond that, aftershaves are a matter of taste.
If I were selecting for myself, I would choose Spanish Leather aftershave by Trumper, Woods of Windsor (by Woods of Windsor), No. 74 Victoria Lime by Taylor of Old Bond Street, and No. 6 Aftershave (supposedly designed for our great president George Washington) by Caswell-Massey. I also will never be without Truefitt & Hill's Spanish Leather, though that's a cologne and I don't think it comes in aftershave.

Obie
+1 on Obie's post.
Of course, you can always try some Aqua Velva. Its affordable, readily available in your local drugstore and many SRP members swear by it.
As for me...I like bay rum. Dominica and Ogallala are my favorite brands.
I just got some Trumpers Spanish Leather at the weekend and its great! Its definately one I will replace when it runs out, thats for sure.
Witch hazel is probably the best liquid for soothing your face, you can then follow this with an alcohol based AS. I would apply enough witch hazel to leave you skin wet (but not dripping) and then immediately go to the AS.
You will notice that I do not use the word splash, it does not accuratlly describe the method of application (you do not splash it on, at least not unless you want to make a big mess), what is applied (since you don't splash it on, it is not a splash of anything) and its use as a subjective noun (i.e. aftershave splash) it is effete and should be avoided.
:aargh:
But one of mine even says splash on the bottle...?
I like Masters bay rum aftershave splash. Alraz makes a very nice bay rum aftershave splash as well. It is not at all effete
Now listen here, fccepxert, I still don’t understand what you’re playing at here. First of all you are boring everyone to death with your outdated, elitist, idiosyncratic, and effectively wrong notions of verbalisation. This is a shaving forum, not some self help group for people with early onset pragmalinguistics dementia. Well I’d appreciate it if you could stop that splashing nonsense already.
Kind regards,
Robin
PS Which usage, by the way?
