    Default lather as post shave

Yesterday, for no apparent reason other than that I had some left over, I decided to lather up while I cleaned my razor and put it away.

I then washed with cold water as normal, but interestingly, my face felt a lot softer, and the cold water didn't sting as much. Thoughts?

Very strange, I really don't have an answer but I wanted to check out the thread to see what happened LOL.

What soap are you using is it MWF or another lanolin soap?

I think I do the same thing but in a less obvious way, I leave the left over lather that is on my face settle a bit while I clean my brush and then I cold rinse.

I thought I was the only one. I do that sometimes, then strop, but I wash it with warm water and then cold...then post shave. My observation was that depending on the soap/creme or combination, you will get different results.

While you were putting the razor away you didn't notice the Lidocaine that fell on your brush which you then brushed into your beard.

I started doing this about a week and a half ago. I had made up a batch of Escential Uber and had loads left over so I thought what the heck might as well use it. I agree thought that you get different results from the different lathers.

You don't have to rinse/wash it off, you know. Let lather sit a while and wipe it then off. No water needed. Works that way too.

If you think this technique works well with Col. Conk, give it a shot with Mitchell's Wool Fat and you will be very happy.
