There is a reason that Clubman has been around for so long. A true classic.
Gentlemen,
Pinaud's Clubman is a way of life. It's the miracle aftershave lotion. I don't recall my shave den ever being without it.
Yeah, I actually like the way it feels as much as the way it smells...
I love that stuff!
I have not found another AS, at any price, that I like so much.
Everytime I splash on Clubman, it reminds me of my youth, getting my haircut at the barbers with that wonderful smell in the air.
However you cant get greedy with it, cause it will wear on you for hours & hours.
It makes my eyes water for the entire day, keeps mosquitos off, and makes salesmen run for cover! That and my kids won't even ask me for money!
Strong stuff, that!
Agreed, I like the talc powder a lot as well!
I also just tried it for the first time. The scent is the best out of everything I've tried, and it has some sting to it! Awesome aftershave. It's called ''lotion'', but do you guys rub it on or splash it on?
Pinaud Clubman is my first choice but I keep Canoe for variety.
I feel like a scholar and a gentleman after using clubman. Such a awesome scent.
They're a great splash for the money. I enjoy almost all of them!
Hello to all - this is my first post. Good thread to start on. I got into wet shaving about 6 weeks ago and now it's become somewhat of an obsession (perhaps you know that feeling). With my new found tools, I am beginning the phase of trying out different oils, soaps, creams, after shave etc...Yesterday I went into Sally's Beauty Supplies to see if they had any creams, they didn't, but they had clubman's aftershave lotion, talk, hair gel, and something called Jerries hair tonic (idk). I have read that anything with alcohol is bad for the face, but my thought process didn't subscribe to that and presently I want options - so I bought one of each for the variety. This morning I talked up my feet, and after my shave I splashed some after shave lotion on. The feeling was different than blam, which was awesome. Clubman didn't disappoint because I feel it's classic. Similar to oxford style shoes, not the stylish product, but more importantly, it will never go out of style. I felt like a true gentleman when I kissed my wife goodbye before my commute. She enjoyed the scent because it was different then my trusty sandalwood. Just a note, I used the clubman hair gel and interestingly it's pretty good too. I have been using $25 hair product, which leaves my hand oily when i tough my hair, but this stuff is good. I have yet to try the hair tonic and I am not sure what it does. Appreciate the time, Saludos!
I am a fan of the Clubman Bay Rum after shave. It is a great summer scent and makes you feel like you are on vacation even at work!
I used Clubman this morning, wonderful indeed. And I do rub it in, any chance to check out the BBS... And honestly, it leaves the skin nice and soft for hours afterward.
For me personally Clubman can't be beat for the price and amazing scent (same applies to Aqua Velva). I also use the Clubman hair tonic. The plus side is that the AS can be found at many places locally. Sally Beauty Supply sells both AS and Hair Tonic so that's where I get my stash.
I to love it for the nastalgia of a bygone era, but its just good stuff. I also have Clubman Musk and its just as good as original and the scent last and last. I remember my grandfather using the clubman gel ( I think it was called pommade or something like that ). AHHHH memories.
I just bought a bottle of Clubman the other day and I've used it after every shave. It's great. Great scent. Also such a great price.
Random question but how do you guys say Pinaud? I think it's PEE-no but I'm not sure.
I love the bay rum and vanilla. The Special one is OK, but I had to toss the original.
I would agree with that pronunciation. The company was started by Edouard Pinaud, so I would stick with the French pronunciation which would be exactly as you have stated it.
Interesting history of the company here
Welcome to the Official site for CLUBMANŽ
Good stuff. I also like the Pinaud Bay Rum, but the Clubman is old timey and good.
It took me a long time to try clubman. Never could remember it when ordering from SRD. I then found it at our local Walgreens and started using it. Love the old barbershop aroma. Today while at Walgreens I picked up another bottle because you never know how long they'll carry an item. Paid and went to the car and started home and began smelling clubman. Some pinhead had loosened the cap, I guess to smell it and didn't tighten it back. Then another Pinhead bought it and didn't check the cap. :gaah: I may need a snorkel for the next month when driving the car. Guess I'll drive the pickup.
Regards,
2nd Pinhead
Well at least you won't be spending money on air freshers for your car for a while.
I use it daily. It smells great and soothes my face wonderfully.
I use it daily too. We bought my son his first straight in October and I included a big ole bottle of Clubman. He loves it.
I look at all those high dollar fancy balms and stuff and decided that if I'm going to shave like a man, I should smell like one.
I've never considered using Clubman. (I've been using Nivea and Jack Black AS.) After reading all of the good posts on here, it looks like I'll have to try it out. Thanks for the idea!
I love clubman, but my go to is Lilac Vegetal :)
Clubman, yeah love the stuff. I guess that as long as I can get it, it will always be in my rotation. I like to use it on Saturday since it reminds me of my youthful trips to the barbershop, which in the late 1950's and into the mid 1960's were always on Saturday.
Clubman is great stuff. Burns like pepper spray when you first put it on but the burning sensation is actually the whimpiness leaving your body. Splash it on.
I also love the clubman...great smell and feel. I just got some bay rum, but haven't had the chance to try it out yet...but from the sounds of it, I won't be disappointed there either.
I would like to try some other stuff...but this clubman has me satisfied to the point that I don't want to risk having a lesser experience:D
I also love Pinaud Clubman, and even better, my wife likes it, which surprised me, but that is a plus!
