It sounds to me like your prep, and the products used are of good quality.
You know, I find that for me, a complete head-shave takes a toll on a straight razors edge.
Simply because there are a whole lot of strands of hair to cut.
The razors I use for my head-shaves are honed a bit more often than the ones used for my facial shave.
So here's what I would look for to fix this:
Make sure your edges are still up to snuff.
Make sure you are applying as little pressure as possible
Make sure your angles are low low low.
