Friday morning was a bad shave day for me. Five nicks, razor burn, and discouragement. I was hoping to find a good product locally. I took Saturday off from shaving which I usually do anyway to allow my face to heal.

While my wife and I were out and about at the mall yesterday (May 14), I purchased a bottle of Anthony Logistics Pre-shave Oil from the Sephora cosmetic/fragrance department of J.C. Penney's. I tried it this morning and I liked the product very much and it worked quite well. I shave after my shower, so my face is well washed and almost shave ready. I applied the pre-shave oil and rubbed it in well into my skin. According to the sales associate, she said to wait about a minute before adding the shave soap; in the mean time, I worked on my lather. I applied my lather as usual and it made a difference in the straight razor's glide over my beard/skin with 0% irritation, no nicks, and no razor burn. It cost $20 for a 2 fl ounce bottle, it's very concentrated and a little bit goes a long way. It helped me get a close shave, I am not at the BBS point just yet since I am still new to straight razor shaving, but in time and practice I will be.

Out of five stars, I give this oil five stars and it was worth $20 for me. I know there are good pre-shave products that cost less, but I wanted to get something from a local store since I didn't want order online and wait for it.

Anybody else try Anthony Logistics Pre-shave Oil?
